About Me

Kat McNiece

LCSW
I’m Kat McNiece, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Inner Alchemy Therapy. I work with adults (18+) and couples who tend to feel deeply, think intensely, and often find themselves navigating anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma, neurodivergence, chronic illness, grief, or major life transitions. Many of the clients I support are people who feel different or out of sync with the expectations of our current world, or who have long sensed that the world was not designed with their nervous system in mind and are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves.
My work is trauma informed and neurodiversity affirming, shaped by both clinical training and lived experience. I integrate approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, parts oriented therapy, polyvagal informed care, and the Gottman Method for couples. These approaches are used flexibly and collaboratively, with the goal of supporting insight, self trust, nervous system regulation, and sustainable change rather than following rigid protocols.
Prior to opening Inner Alchemy Therapy, I worked in behavioral therapy and integrative health care settings. It was in integrative care that my understanding of the relationship between the nervous system and overall wellbeing deepened, reinforcing my belief that mental health cannot be separated from the body, lived experience, or the broader context of a person’s life. This perspective continues to guide how I show up in the therapy space.
I am especially passionate about working with neurodivergent adults, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism, and giftedness, as well as individuals living with anxiety, trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder, and chronic health conditions. I have a particular interest in how these experiences intersect and often interact with one another.
I believe therapy should feel both safe and real. You do not have to perform, minimize, or fix yourself to be worthy of support. My goal is to help clients reconnect with their inner wisdom, build greater nervous system resilience, and move toward lives that feel more authentic and sustainable.

Locations
I see clients in person in both Denver and Boulder, Colorado, with offices in each location as well as virtually.
Fees
I do not accept insurance. Working outside of insurance allows me to offer care that is more flexible, personalized, and responsive to each client’s needs, without the constraints many insurance plans place on diagnosis, session structure, or length of care. This also allows greater privacy and clinical autonomy, so therapy can remain centered on what is most supportive rather than what is reimbursable.
Individual therapy is $180.00 per 45 minute session.
Couples therapy is $210.00 per 60 minute session.
